Unit 1: Syrian Chemical Bombings

It isn't clear who sent nerve agent missiles into rebel strongholds in a suburb of Demascus, some are saying it was the government and others are saying the rebels bombed themselves to make the government look bad. Either way it's estimated that 355 people were killed and 3,600 were injured. Because the bombing happened 5 days ago the evidence and investigation will be hard to document not to mention the U.N. officials attempting to study ground zero are coming under sniper fire. Britan, France, and Turkey have announced that they will back U.S. action outside the U.N. mandate.

US weighs action over 'moral obscenity' of Syria gas attack

Evidence has been found that links the Syrian government to the chemical bombings. The scale of the attacks has not been seen for decades (last seen under the Saddam Hussein regime). Currently there are 4 navy destroyers and 2 submarines in the Mediterranean prepared to send cruise missiles, President Assad is not a target however. The U.N. does not yet support the U.S. for military action, however if the regime is not intercepted now the president will likely order more chemical attacks. Britain's parliament will vote Thursday over military action, however the U.S. claims military action isn't imminent because it will take time to coordinate with allies and make evidence public. Syrian free rebels say air strikes are needed to stop Assad from launching more chemical strikes. So now it is clear who bombed the rebels but the action to be taken against the Syrian government is not coming fast enough.

There is no doubt that chemical weapons were used in Syria.
This video is not something I find necessarily useful by any means. However it gives a well thought out description of what we all think about the use of CW (chemical weapons) on innocent civilians with intent to kill.
Syria, David Cameron, Barack Obama
David Cameron & Barack Obama discussed action against Syria last night during a phone call
A protest has been organized in London opposing the invasion of Syria. Tony Blair claims it would be irresponsible and dangerous to not intervene in some fashion. Military plans are being procured in parliament
